The Edges of the World

Ernesto Neto//Hayward Gallery

Neto transformed the Hayward Gallery’s upper galleries and sculpture terraces with a series of interlinked installations representing three separate aspects of a city park: a monument, a garden walkway and a lake.

Visitors were able to explore a sequence of spaces that merged sculpture and architecture, animating the work by wandering through fabric installations, relaxing in cushioned soft spaces, ascending stairs into artworks overhead or venturing barefoot through an all-encompassing nylon vessel.
